Microsoft Office User
Specialist (MOUS)
Microsoft® Office User Specialist (MOUS) is a certification provided
by Microsoft. Earning this certification confirms your expertise in one
or more of the following products within the Microsoft Office suite:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and/or Outlook.
Why Should I Become MOUS
Certified?
Taking a MOUS certification exam can assess the level of proficiency
you have within a particular Microsoft Office product. Both employees
and employers can benefit from MOUS certification.
By proving your mastery of Microsoft Office desktop applications,
gaining MOUS certification can help you move toward a desired promotion
or pay raise. Certification is linked to higher productivity, which
means your employer will benefit directly from your higher level of
skills, as compared to non-certified employees.
Even employers looking for new employees can benefit from the MOUS
certification program. These employers can verify the skill level of
different job applicants by looking for MOUS certification. In fact,
hiring new employees with MOUS certification may also lead to less
initial training time required before an employee become productive, as
many responsibilities will already be mastered through MOUS study and
certification.
